Lima First Missions
Lima First is a missions minded church. Our Missions Ministry is based on the scripture Acts 1:8, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” In the Missions world, you are either a sender or a goer. Lima First have people who support missions in both capacities.
These are the people who give generously every month to allow the Gospel to be spread in Lima, Ohio (our Jerusalem), the state of Ohio (our Judea), the United States (Our Samaria), and in over 35 different countries (the ends of the earth). God has provided for those who give to do so.
In the Lima, Ohio area, Lima First helps Missions Outreach to the community by supporting various Christian-based groups with funds that provide for immediate needs of the underprivileged, poor, and in-need population of Lima and surrounding counties. Also local evangelical support for youth including Teens for Christ and Fellowship of Christian Athletes
Lima First is a financial supporter of the Chi Alpha group in Ohio. There is a Chi Alpha chapter at almost every major college in Ohio. They provide for the spiritual and, in some cases, the physical needs of students in our colleges and universities. They provide a welcoming environment for students of all levels, but especially those who may be having a rough time adjusting to college life.
Lima first also supports various missions throughout the United States, including supporting the AG Chaplains that are serving in the military and at VA facilities. Aged Ministers Assistance gives support to the elderly AG Ministers who may need some assistance after a life of servitude to bring people into the Kingdom.
Lima First supports nearly 70 missionaries that would fall into the “ends of the earth” category. All over the world, there are AG Missionaries bringing the light of the Gospel Message into the darkness of this world. A good number of them do this without regards to personal safety or conditions.
While we have much more senders than goers at Lima First, we have had opportunities to send volunteers to help build church buildings and restore lost property due to natural disasters. The main focus of mission outreach is to help our local area. With 90,000 unchurched alone in Allen County, Lima First looks to the abundant mission field in our area to help the poor, the needy, the ones looking not for a handout, but a hand up simply to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our Jerusalem. We are working diligently to increase help to meet the ever growing need in our area.
